AL Qemah Fire Rated Duct is a unique, non-coated, fire rated ductwork fabricated from galvanised sheet steel on dedicated, state-of-the-art equipment. The AL Qemah Fire Rated Duct has been fully tested and certified as per British Standard BS 476 Part 24 for 120 minutes of Stability, Integrity & Cross-sectional area criterion for duct Type A & Type B.
AL Qemah Fire Rated Duct meets major international fire safety standards and it is most reliable, cost-effective fire rated duct which is locally produced by Al Qemah. AL Qemah Fire Rated Duct is approved by Underwriters Laboratory (UL) and UAE Civil Defense for 2 hours fire rating for duct Type A & Type B. AL Qemah Fire Rated Duct works are constructed from galvanized steel sheet with flanges or angles as transverse joint and intermediate stiffeners to meet two hours fire rating for stability, integrity & cross-sectional criterion. It is available in fully welded construction manufactured from Mild steel or Stainless steel sheets.
The AL Qemah Fire Rated Duct work system is tested and certified for various applications such as Ventilation, Car park, Pressurisation ducts and other fire rated systems.
Features
STABILITY
The duct shall not collapse inside the furnace of duct type A or outside the furnace of
duct type A & B in such a manner that the duct no longer fulfills its intended function.
The AL Qemah Fire Rated Duct system when subjected to the stability test according to BS 476 part
24:1987 standard, Stability criterion was maintained during the entire test of 121
minutes.
INTEGRITY
Integrity failure occurs when the presence and formation of cracks, holes or other
openings outside the furnace through which flames or hot gases can pass or Ignition of
the cotton pad or appearance of sustained flaming (duration of at least 10 seconds) on the
unexposed face of the duct.

24:1987 standard, Integrity criterion was maintained during the entire test of 121
minutes.
CROSS-SECTIONAL AREA
It is considered that any restriction of the cross-sectional area of the duct to 75% or
less of its original area should be deemed to constitute failure. The AL Qemah Fire Rated Duct
system when subjected to the cross-sectional area test according to BS 476 part
24:1987 standard, Cross-sectional area was maintained the entire test of 121 minutes.
DUCT TYPE A
Upto 2 hours Stability, Integrity & Crosssectional area. Typical for Ventilation, Pressurisation & other fire rated systems
DUCT TYPE B
Upto 2 hours Stability, Integrity & Crosssectional area. Typical for Car park, Smoke extract & other fire rated systems.
